Good News, Bad News
Sunday was a good-news, bad-news, good-news sort of day. Let me explain:
- The good news - we had a record turnout for a non-holiday (or special event) service. Meeting newcomers to GCC is one of the highlights of my week!
- The bad news – we heard of at least one vehicle that arrived a bit late and turned around and left because there was no available parking. That’s bad news, but it’s a problem we will temporarily solve with our two-service schedule beginning October 16.
- The good news – we had our highest turnout to Discover GCC with 18 newcomers. It was a wonderful chance to connect with some quality individuals and families who are finding GCC to be a place where they can “come as they are…but grow.”
So Sunday’s good news outweighed the bad news, and that’s great news!
ONE church…TWO times
We are just weeks away from the launch of our second service (9:00 am) and I can’t begin to tell you know optimistically anxious I am. We have several resources available to equip you to share the exciting news that GCC is now “ONE church…TWO times”:
- Yard Signs – there are still a handful remaining. Pick up yours this coming weekend
- Invitation Cards – we have an ample supply of cards you can use to invite people to our new series, “Bones,” beginning on the 16th
- Facebook Event – go to the GCC Facebook page (facebook.com/mygracecrossingchurch) and invite your FB friends to the “ONE church…TWO times” launch on October 16
In addition, on Saturday, October 8 we will distribute invitational door hangers to our community. Breakfast will be provided at 8:30 am and we’ll hit the pavement by 9 am. We could use some additional manpower (or woman-power), so please email beckie@gracecrossingchurch.net to register.
The past 20 months have been epic, but I suspect the best is yet to come. With the wind of God’s Spirit to our backs, let’s move together toward our preferred future!
